Exploring Montreal’s Parks – Spring Arrived

At 9 o’clock in the morning, I started a long day walking through Park Angrignon and Rapids Park Lachine exploring what emerges from the long winter on this warm spring day. I have taken about 900 photos of 6 new species for my collection and many familiar, seen before. From all the photos, I choose this one as my shot of the day:

Common Garter Snake (Thamnophis sirtalis)

Common Garter Snake gliding through the leaves. My first sighting of this beautiful animal. I was astonished how silent the snake glided through the dry leaves.

If you are interested in following all my photos, please check out my flickr page. Not all shots will make it into my blog!
