A small duck with round head and small beak, frequently seen in parks around Montreal, especially during spring and autumn.
My sightings of this bird happened in Rapids Park Lachine during spring and autumn. American Wigeon is a migratory bird, spending summer more North and winter more South.
On every park visit, we maintain a log of species spotted and identified. If you maintain a similar list, please consider sharing it with Muuuh Wildlife Photography: Share Logs.

Times a species has been spotted, identified and logged while visiting this park. A species is reported only once / park visit. Only parks listed which we visit frequently all year long. Consult the page animal tracking about how we log observations in field.
To identify this bird, i look at shape of the head and head color pattern of the male. American Wigeon has a round head and small beak. The drake's head top is grey, and he has green feathers around the eyes.
