Gray Catbird - Dumetella carolinensis

A medium-sized, gray bird with dark grey head crown and tip of tail wings. Omnivorous but primarily eating fruits and berries. Leaves the Montreal area during summer and winters South in more warmer areas.

Where & When to Spot

A common bird but because of its preference for dense vegetation, more difficult to spot.

How to Identify

Gray bird with dark gray upper head. Brown colored underside of the tail wings. Upper part of the tip of the tail wings is almost black. Eyes and legs are black.
