Located on a separated island, west of of Montreal, Parc-Nature du Bois-de-L'Île-Bizard has a pond and swamp area embedded in a large forest.

How to Get Here

Unfortunately, there is no public transportation to the park. You can get there by car or how we do it by bike. The park is located about 30km from Montreal center though. Due to its distance from Montreal and the lack of public transportation, we visit this park rarely.

Photography Tips

The meandering pathways within the forest allow you to approach swamp and pond at different points, providing hiding spots to watch the scenery and species within. Great place to observe natural behaviour of different species in their habitat.

You will need a large lens for bird photography because it is difficult to get close. The place is full of interesting objects for macro photography.

What to See Here

With its large forest area and embedded swamp, this park is place of a large number of different species adopted to these habitats. The remote location of this park makes it less populated allowing you to spot species which prefer avoiding getting close to persons.
