At Last - Rückblick 2018

As usual, I summarized my activities as photographer during the previous year in a short video which I then publish in YouTube.

Barred Owl

Already the length of the video indicates that 2018 was an active year. 2016 1:30, 2017 1:56 and 2018 2:51. Besides photos from animals in different parks in and around Montreal, I visited Tadoussac in spring and Victoriaville in autumn.

By visiting many different biotops, I was able to spot new species I never have seen before. In 2018, I added photos of 32 new species to my photography guide Fauna & Flora Photography. Among those highlights such as Red Fox, Beluga, Porcupine but also many, many birds.

I noticed that in 2018, my approach to photography has changed. While in previous years, I just went out to see which animals may be around, my excursions in 2018 were better planned. I usually left with an idea in mind what I will encounter and which shots I am looking for. This may have to do with the fact that I replaced my primary lense to a prime 300mm lense which requires better planning than my previously used zoom 150mm-600mm.

Finally, I have set up a small online shop for prints which I started to populate with my preferred shots and I am looking forward to 2019 with the hope to start selling some prints: (removed link)

PS: The original publication has been changed. I replaced the lead photo. I consider the photo of a Barred Owl more appropriate than of a Black-throated Blue Warbler. Also, I removed the link to the site The site will go offline.
