Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula)
The Baltimore Oriole (Icterus galbula) is a vibrant songbird known for its striking orange and black plumage, making it a favourite among birdwatchers in North America. This mid-sized migratory bird breeds in the northern regions during the warmer months and migrates to Central and South America for the winter, where it primarily feeds on insects and nectar.

How to Identify

Where and When to Spot
The Baltimore Oriole can be observed during the spring, summer, and autumn in most parks around Montreal. Although the density of this species is low, and sightings are not guaranteed on every visit, they typically appear in pairs, perched in the higher branches of trees.
