Parc des Étangs Antoine-Charlebois
Parc des Étangs is a collection of small ponds shaped by pits of a former construction site and surround by forest and small patches of prairies.
How to get to Parc des Étangs Antoine-Charlebois
There is no public transportation to this park. The only way to get there is by car. Limited parking is available in two small lots on either side of the gravel road, as well as along the road itself.
What to See Here
The park consists mostly of three habitats, ponds, forests, prairies and with these three habitats a great variety of species. The ponds have a artificial history though which limits the species variety but because having been kept undisturbed for many decades still interesting for a naturalist. Best time to visit is in spring.
When visiting this park, don’t miss exploring the area to the right of the gravel road. On my last visit, I spotted there a Killdeer (Charadrius vociferus) incubating its eggs and a lifer Veery (Catharus fuscescens).
