Parc du Réservoir Beaudet
A park surrounds an artificial lake located in Victoriaville, a small city southwest of Quebec City and east of Montreal. It is known for being a gathering point for snow geese in autumn.
How to get to Parc du Réservoir Beaudet
Victoriaville is about a 3-hour drive away from Montreal. I take the bus, which may not be the fastest but is the most comfortable way to get there. Upon arriving at the Victoriaville terminal, a 30-minute walk brings you to Parc du Reservoir Beaudet.
What to See Here
Although it is home to an interesting estuary ecosystem and offers the opportunity to spot species living in this habitat, the main reason to visit this place is to watch Snow Geese during migration in early November. The reservoir serves as a gathering point for them on their way south.

The best time to visit this place is during the first days of November to watch Snow Goose (Anser caerulescens). It serves as a gathering place for this species during their migration south - an opportunity to observe and photograph flocks of thousands of Snow Geese.
Don't miss the small nature reserve around the estuary, which provides opportunities to take photos of shorebirds and waterfowl. You can get to the water's level, riverside, and lakeside for spectacular photos.
