The Lake in Autumn - Yamaska National Park
A brisk autumn wind sweeps across the shore of a tranquil lake in Yamaska National Park. Ripples shimmer under blue skies as leaves rustle along the water’s edge — a pure 4K soundscape where the quiet gusts of fall reign, broken only now and then by distant calls of Canada geese.

Field Notes
This was my first recording using the Rycote WS ORTF Kit — a significant investment to improve sound quality in windy conditions. Despite the upgrade, some artificial wind artifacts were still present when stronger gusts hit the equipment. I removed these during post-production to ensure a comfortable listening experience.
For my next session, I plan to add foam inserts inside the windshield, which should further reduce or eliminate any remaining instances of wind hitting the microphone capsules.
