Explore the Ancient World of Common Snapping Turtles
Common Snapping Turtle
One of my favorite animals in the area is the Common Snapping Turtle. Usually submerged in a pond only raising its nose above the surface and rarely moving, this animal is difficult to spot.
Although occasionally, the turtle leaves the pond crossing over to another pond and luckily I was able to spot one and I took a short video clip underlaid it with the appropriate music and published it on YouTube:
Elderly individuals of these species don’t have natural enemies and they can live up to 100 years or more. Unfortunately, their survival is limited by human activities directly with motorized traffic and indirectly through loss of habitat.
